This 3-week course is a friendly, practical introduction to Fun Gundog Training, designed to build strong foundations while keeping training enjoyable and rewarding. Suitable for both young dogs and older dogs who are new to gundog training, this course focuses on teamwork, confidence, and real-life skills that carry over into everyday walks. Training takes place in real-life environments, helping your dog learn to stay engaged and responsive around natural distractions. Fun Gundog Training channels your dog’s natural instincts—such as hunting and retrieving—into calm, controlled behaviours, creating a more focused and fulfilled dog. What we’ll cover: -Loose lead walking and calm handling -Reliable recall -Directional cues and clear communication -Hunting together and encouraging natural ability -Introduction to retrieving skills -Steadiness and impulse control Benefits of Fun Gundog Training: -Improves focus, confidence, and self-control -Provides excellent mental and physical stimulation -Strengthens the bond between you and your dog -Channels natural instincts in a positive, structured way Suitable for all breeds—not just traditional gundogs Who this course is for: -Dogs aged 6 months and over -Young dogs starting their gundog journey -Older dogs who are new to gundog training -Pet dogs who enjoy sniffing, retrieving, or problem-solving -Owners looking for better recall, lead manners, and calm behaviour -Anyone curious about gundog training in a fun, pressure-free way No previous gundog training experience is needed—just a willingness to learn and enjoy working together. • We cannot accept bitches in season or any dogs that are unwell to our workshop. • As we will be working in a group, all dogs attending must be happy to be around other dogs & people. • If you have a reactive dog, please just get in touch and we can discuss how we can best support you. Please note as per government regulations, any breed which is on the banned bred list at the start of the course twill unfortunately not be able to take part in any sessions.
