Fun Gundog Skills Workshop - Retrievers Designed for retriever-type breeds who are new to gundog training or developing their early skills. This workshop focuses on building calm, controlled and confident retrievers who work in partnership with their handler. What we cover: Building teamwork and engagement with your dog Introduction to whistle commands Basic retrieving skills and delivery to hand Early distance handling foundations Steadiness and self-control around distractions Fun, structured retrieve exercises This session is ideal for dogs who naturally enjoy retrieving but need guidance to become focused, responsive and reliable working partners. 📌 Workshop Information ⏱ Duration: 1 hour 👥 Maximum 4 dogs per session 🐶 Suitable for dogs aged 4 months+ 💷 £25 per dog 🌿 Held outdoors (weather appropriate clothing advised) Dogs must be comfortable working around other dogs and people in a group environment. Basic obedience is helpful but not essential. ⚠️ Important Information Bitches in season cannot attend Unwell dogs must not attend No flexi leads permitted 🎒 What to Bring Flat collar or harness and lead 2 favourite toys (pocket-sized) High-value treats Whistle and/or dummies (if used) Water and bowl for your dog Poo bags 💚 Training Ethos At Penthwell Dog Training, we use ethical, reward-based methods that prioritise kindness, clarity, and clear communication.
